I went from being the starting quarterback at a small Texas college—doing really well academically and socially—to becoming housebound within six months, the result of untreated OCD that was repeatedly misdiagnosed as anxiety and depression. My life pretty much collapsed until I discovered others online describing my same fears and responses, naming them as OCD. That was my lightbulb moment.
